The ultra-cycling adventure THE ALPS follows a predetermined route through the beautiful mountains of the Bavarian, Austrian and Italian Alps until the riders finally reach the south-western end of Lake Garda. This is a bikepacking event in which participants receive no support along the route and are therefore on their own from start to finish. The route takes riders through deep valleys, over high peaks and past some of the most picturesque landscapes in the Alps. Mostly on loose surfaces (61%), but still enough tarmac sections (39%) to be considered an all-road adventure. In total, there are around 630 km and 22,000 metres of altitude to conquer.
